Mmmm, lovely! We were one of the 27,000 customers without power.
- 9 hours can go by really slowly
- I’m so dependent on power supply
- Customer service is not customer service
- I can learn information which is in complete contradiction to what the “experts” on the phone are telling me by driving around my local area
- BBQs are a good thing
- Cordless phones suck, charged cellphones don’t
- Regularly check your torch batteries are still working
- Cellphone clocks and cellphone alarm clocks are a life saver
- Laptops are handy but I wish their batteries lasted longer
- The power will come back on, just as you’re falling asleep.
Goodnight world.

Sounds like a heck of an interesting day! I’d like to add from my own experiences, that wi-fi is great but when there is no power your router goes off and even if you have hours of laptop battery you can’t get online. boo.

I would add:
#11 the redundant power supply battery doesn’t last as long as it needs to

We had a power outage today. Our generators kicked in and after 2 minutes the power came back on.
