our thoughts

there’s some limitations. I personally don’t imagine using it much, just like I have spell-checker turned off on my email program. What irks me more than typos are things that spell-checkers aren’t going to pick up: in particular the misuse of “it’s”.

I’m looking forward to have it, though… A Spaniard like me needs some help from time to time… ;-)

I usually use Google Toolbar to check posts (I am not a very good speller) but that only works sometimes…

I suspect that we will be stuck with American English as the default and possibly only one available. That will leave those of us that spell centre, honour and colour properly (the English way) a bit stuck…

Re: “it’s” vs. “its” – I think what you would want then is a spell checker/grammar checker then. It’s just like when you type “The man is wearing a hot”. It’s not going to pick up a spelling mistake since it’s correctly evaluating each word on a word by word basis for spelling accuracy, but potentially a grammar/context checker could pick up errors like this.

MS Word tries very hard to detect grammar errors, but in my experience it is usually wrong.

Uhm, I have wordpress 2.0.2 already for a week or 2. I can suggest to upgrade to that version as well.

hoorah! I’ve had my fingers crossed for a spell checker for a while now :) Not that I necessarily *trust* them, but they’re good for pointing out real clangers that can be missed in the haste to get a post out!

[...] On the other hand, I’m celebrating a 2 months of blogging. The first thing is to say that it seems like so much more time than that! At the risk of sounding like an utter dork, blogging has become an integral part of my everyday. Even when I’m not actually writing a lot of posts, I’m often thinking about them. I’ve discovered that it’s relatively rare for me to blog ‘off the cuff’ in response to something I’ve just happened upon. Although, I guess, that’s what my daily links do, in a way. Blog posts actually take some time for me to craft… longer than I’d originally expected, but not so long that I actually go back and proof read them before I send them live…! Maybe next month (when WordPress launches its spellchecker!) [...]

I’ve put off this post because it’s long and overwhelming. In the porn world, sex infiltrates every offshoot of your life. It takes that kind of infestation for the magnificence to wear off.
