About

Hi! I’m Rachel Cunliffe. I’m a lecturer and web designer, living in Auckland, New Zealand.

I founded cre8d design, a web studio which focuses on blog design and community websites which use standards-based code and CSS. I’m also researching into the use of IM for educational purposes and focusing on statistical literacy.

I’ve been involved with a tonne of sites. I’m pretty proud of IdolBlog and Street Talk which I set up with my husband, Regan. They’re both highly popular and lively community fan-sites. IdolBlog even won the 2005 best youth website award in New Zealand.

I’ve been blogging since the start of 2002 and have designed dozens of personal and business blogs. You might be interested in reading a talk I gave to the NZ Marketing Association with Regan: The power of online communities and integrating blogs into mainstream marketing campaigns (PDF).

I’m also the co-director of CensusAtSchool New Zealand, an online educational project for children aged 8-15.

I live in the greater Auckland region with my husband and kitten and, when not on my computer, I’m often found reading, listening to music, taking photos, travelling, trying my hand at painting and chilling out with friends.
