Blog design

Each blog project is different but to give you an idea of the cost involved, personal blogs are designed from $1500US and business/organisation/pro blogs from $3000US.

This includes a custom design, XHTML/CSS template (standards compliant) and installation into your blog software e.g. Wordpress, MovableType, Typepad, pMachine, Drupal etc. Each project is done completely from scratch in consultation with you and is not a generic pre-built template.

This initial price includes up to 35 hours to put together your blog from start to finish (usually this is adequate time) - if the project involves more complex features, significant specific programming, logo design etc this is charged out at $90US/hour.

Projects can be divided into smaller phases and charged out at an hourly rate of $90US/hour.

After you’ve been running your blog for a while, you might be in need of one or more of the following:

• Upgrading your blogging software (e.g. Wordpress, MovableType).
• Plugin installations and upgrades - add some extra functionality to your blog.
• Tidy and validate your code.
• Improve your theme or design
• Speed up your blog’s load time by optimizing graphics and code.

• Be provided with tips and advice for improving your blog.
• Advice on how to start blogging.
• Support for new or experienced bloggers.
• Tips for how to promote your blog.
• Guidance on which blogging tool or software would best suit your project.
• Advice on running successful community or Web 2.0 sites.

Coding

Developed using XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and Javascript. Attention is placed on standards-compliant code, usability and accessibility issues and also cross-browser considerations.
